Building Addition
Adding a new room or rooms to an existing building structure? Care must be taken when adding new additional square footage to an existing structure. Ensuring the existing structure is well supported when removing existing load bearing walls as well as ensuring the new foundation is properly connected and compatible with the existing foundation.
Renovation and Remodel
Many renovation and remodel projects require the removal of load bearing walls or portions of load bearing walls. It is required that the load is redistributed safely to a new or existing foundation element. Seismic retrofit is another common renovation which requires detailed analysis and design to bring existing structures up to current safety thresholds. Retrofits should be designed to minimize occupant disruption and provide minimal aesthetic disruption.
